My Latest Titanic Project – Part Three   Leave a comment

The One Hundredth anniversary of the maiden voyage of the Titanic has come and gone and I am certain that thousands and millions of people honored it in their own special way.  I, for one, did a little door decorating to commemorate the event.  I smattered my door with photos and quotes, documenting Titanic’s story from conception to the modern day.  Have a look!

Note: Not all of the pictures are of the greatest quality, and for that I apologize.

In time for the end of April 10th, a big day for us, I have the [nearly] completed door covering  project.  My idea to keep it confined to the door did not work as I had to many iconic images and quotes which I felt were necessary.  Between now and the end of the 15th I intend to polish it off and tidy it a bit.  I tried to be as comprehensive as I could with the content.  It is meant to show iconic scenes from the lifetime of the Titanic and use quotes, both long and short) to describe something I feel is important or interesting regarding the ship, a particular person’s story, or something else.  It contains actual photos, postcards, scenes from movies and more.  All of the quotes are authentic from testimonies, letters, etc.  I will post detail shots (like the one of Andrews) of all of the pictures and sections for posts in the next couple of days.

My Latest Titanic Project

About a month ago, I started a little project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sailing and sinking of our favorite passenger liner. I took an extended break from it as I got busy and now that the anniversary is fast approaching, I am working hard to finish it up. The project is to cover my college dorm room door (and recently the frame around it), with various Titanic pictures to showcase different events, people, and themes of Titanic’s lifetime. Some of the pictures are supplemented with quotes. Over the next few days as more pictures go up, I plan to document the images used and explain their significance, as each image has a very meaningful one. Check back often as I update and upload!
